    Found this on the train platform today

    I suspect the writing is Tibetan, but I’m not sure. Someone I work with is making a movie about Tibet, so if she’s around I’ll confirm this. I get kind of a Jack Chick vibe off the picture, though it’s much better rendered than one of his.

    UPDATE: An astute reader tells me this is actually Sanskrit, and I have no Sanskrit hookup. If you do, help figure out what this is for!

    UPDATE UPDATE! So the person who was my Tibetan hookup happens to know a little Sanskrit. She said this is a weird form of it, and she thought it might actually be Hindi. It is some sort of prayer to the great swami on it. She said at first it looked like a mantra, but upon reading a little more, it seems to be both a prayer to recite as well as a mantra.
